Thigh Lift Detroit
A thigh lift is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the thighs to tighten the skin and improve the contour of the legs. A thigh lift may also be performed in combination with liposuction of the thighs to improve the overall contour of the legs and to remove stubborn fat deposits and can be performed at the time of another type of surgery, such as in combination with an arm lift.
A thigh lift can markedly improve the appearance of your legs. The combined effects of aging, gravity, fluctuations in weight, and a loss of skin elasticity all contribute to loss of tone in the thighs as we age.
Dr. Lytle approaches thigh lifts to meet your specific needs. This means adequately assessing the amount of excess skin and fat that needs to be removed. Each of these components will determine which procedure is best for you. With only mild skin and fat excess confined to the inner thigh region and good skin elasticity, you may be a candidate for a minimal incision approach. As the preoperative condition worsens in severity, the incisions required to obtain proper correction must be larger. For the most severe type of hanging skin conditions, multiple incisions may be required.
If you are planning a future pregnancy or anticipate a significant loss of weight in the future, it is probably best to postpone your thigh lift until after these events have occurred to optimize your results.
Following thigh lift surgery, many patients experience an immediate improvement in their self-esteem and discover a greater self-confidence. In addition, many also find greater access to different clothing styles and fashions and are less self-conscious at the gym, around the pool, or at the beach.
If you think you might be a good candidate for a thigh lift, this page will give you a basic understanding of the procedure and the results you can expect. The cornerstone of Dr. Lytle’ approach is to individualize treatment to your specific circumstances and goals and to ensure that you have an adequate understanding of the issues involved so that you are able to make a fully informed decision. After Your Procedure
You should plan to take it easy following your surgery. No strenuous activities, heavy lifting (over 20 pounds), aerobic exercises, swimming, contact sports, tennis, or golf should be planned for the first three weeks. As Dr. Lytle monitors your recovery, he will advise you when it is safe to resume specific activities.
You should plan to wear the compression garment for six weeks following surgery. Dr. Lytle will remove the drainage tubes within when the drain output reaches a safe level.
The Results You Can Expect
You will notice an improvement in your thigh contour immediately. However, your shape will continue to improve in the following weeks as the mild swelling subsides. You should be up and walking the day following surgery to prevent blood clots from forming in the legs. Your legs will be sore for several days, but this will rapidly subside. You should able to resume your normal daily activities within several days following surgery, and you should be able to resume all of your physical activities within four to six weeks of surgery.
Starting approximately 2 weeks after your surgery, you will have a 2 or 3 massages by our licensed massage therapist. This will be a lymphatic draining massage performed to decrease the amount of swelling and to improve the lymphatic drainage.
“I look at my “before” photos and can’t believe I waited so long. Now I can finally wear dresses without a bra, and I’m proud of how I look in a bikini.”
